Alright guys I've finally (I think) settled on my gear which will stay with me for ages...

I plan on buying a 2 x 12 cab for the sake of portability and the fact 2x12 combos are just too heavy. I saw these which I think I'm gonna go for the Framus. Both have Celestion V30's although I think down the line I'm gonna swap the speakers for Eminence Black Powders. Don't recommend Vader/Avatar because I can't get them in the UK.

Framus FR212 - £214

Harley Benton G212 Vintage - £140 . I feel a bit dubious about buying this one though

And for heads these are my main choices:

Carvin V3

Peavey 6505

Other amps I've been looking at are ENGL Fireball and Marshall JVM but I don't this these are as good as the first two for what I'm looking for.

I saw Bullet For My Valentine play at Wolverhampton last night and I noticed several 6505 heads and I was really impressed with the overall sound.

I'm looking at spending no more than around 900 pounds...that's about 1800 dollars. And I play hard rock to metal, and I'm lead guitarist in my band so I need something that cuts through the mix well.
Because this is my first main purchase regarding amps, I just need some advice and hopefully a push in the right direction.
Plus, forgive me for being dense but are the cabs and heads matched properly? As in wattage and ohms. I noticed the ohms are switchable but that's all I know.
I realised I've posted quite a few amp threads in the past, sorry about that I just wanna make sure I'm happy with my purchase.
Thankyou .

those cabs will work fine with the 6505- idk the wattage/ohms of the carvin but i assume it's about 120w with 4, 8 or 16 ohms, in which case the cabs will work with both heads.
And I'm pretty sure that vadar will ship to UK if you wanted and due to the exchange rates they're not too expensive.

Anyway, as long as you're not MAJORLY into other genres such as blues I would go with the 6505- the carvin is really really nice, and it's versatile, but if you don't need your amp to be versatile, you may as well specialise, capiché?
Yeah, Bullet used 6505's on 'The Poison', and I think they used them on their new album too. A LOT of metal/hardcore bands have used (or are currently using) 6505's, just to name a few, Trivium, As I Lay Dying, Bullet For My Valentine, Killswitch Engage e.t.c.

For the best tingle, use Original Source mint. That shit feels amazing on your balls.

Is it true that it's real Vintage 30's in the Harley Benton? Since the cab cost only slightly more than a single Vintage 30 element it seems kind of weird to me...

Yea I'm aiming for a Bullet/Killswitch Engage tone for my metal and a Velvet Revolver/Nickelback tone for hard rock. I'll probably be playing Led Zep and G'n'R too. I'd like useable cleans really..

In this review the Carvin was being compared to all sorts of high quality boutique amps such as Diezels and Bogners and apparently it held up, and in some cases the cleans excelled on the V3.

The Carvin V3 is 100 watts btw so that means my cab choice is sorted. I'll order the Framus FR212 cab tonight probably unless anyone has any other alternatives for me?

I can only guess so, shops wouldn't get away with lying about their products, so they must be real Celestions.

might as well try an engl blackmore and laney tt head too. though as yngwi3 says, the 5150 should be fine for what you want.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
