What is the youngest age a band would take a band member?
Even if they have as good as skills as an older person.

14. I dunno, but when he was 14, one of my friends was playing lead guitar in a band, and he was awesome.

They thought it was a good gimmick.

...i always thought 14 would be good...but i see alot of ads that say 16 years olds only...i guess its for maturity...

Honestly, you could start a band at 9 or 10 if you had the determination.

If you're talking about a band hiring a member, then it depends on the age of the other bandmates.

i wouldnt say thats something that you could be exact on. i mean, it depends. are you talking like a signed, nation touring, band? or just some sort of neighborhood project. honestly though, most serious adult bands dont want anyone underneath the age of 21, becuase you cant play bar gigs at night.

i agree with 14 but alot say 16 because that means they can mostly likely drive

I think depends it on the musicianship, the maturity and the dedication of the individual to be honest.

Thinking of young kids in bands reminds of that lame-ass Iron Maiden wanna-be/rip off band Light of Doom.

I hated that band. Then again, I hated every band on that show.

I'm going to be playing a in a band with some 30-40 year olds when they find a drummer. I'm 16.

It's not going to be you, so don't worry about it.

On the other hand, I'd say probably 16. They could drive, and they don't legaly have to be in school anymore...

Sounds about right to me, and I'm assuming you're talking about a good band, not some sh*tty highschool band.

I was 17 and in a band with my buddy, who's 18, and three other guys, two of which were like mid-thirties, the other in late twenties. I guess it depends on how desperate they are for a member/really good you are. I'm pretty sure I fell in the former category

Hmm...last year I played in a band with my friend (we were 13) and we played with his dad who was in his mid 40's, another guy in his late 30's, and our drummer was around 50.

We kicked-ass!

seriously...
