Just another song about the effect drugs have on artists really: The Damage that the Needle Does.

The Three States of Mind

It's often fun to play second fiddle
So that you mightn't be the one in the middle
But with no strings attached it's hard for your sound to come out at all
And you'll soon be regretting your subordinate role

A world without limitations
Barred by your own conscious thought
That's a different train of thought
That boarded long before it got caught
Solid, liquid, gas
The three states of mind
Another one who's left behind
Deformation of a different kind

It's often fun to write between the lines
Pretend you were one who knew something divine
But it's behind, not between that remains to be seen
And you'll quickly discover that it's not what it seems

A world without limitations
Barred by your own conscious thought
That's a different train of thought
That boarded long before it got caught
Solid, liquid, gas
The three states of mind
Another one who's left behind
Deformation of a different kind

A girl with her head on her shoulders
And its screwed on the right way
And just as well for her
Or she might lose it by the end of the day

If I were you I'd stop asking questions, sit back and enjoy the ride
If I were you I'd live it up, take everything in my stride
If I were U this would be thus, you wouldn't need to comprehend
If I were U then sing would be sung and this song would have drawn to an end

It's mind over matter
What's it going to be?
It's mind over what matters
What's it going to be?

A world without limitations
Barred by your own conscious thought
That's a different train of thought
That boarded long before it got caught
Solid, liquid, gas
The three states of mind
Another one who's left behind
Deformation of a different kind

I like the flow. the rhymes are not forced at all

A world without limitations

Solid, liquid, gas

I love the metaphors in this stanza

It's often fun to write between the lines
Pretend you were one who knew something divine
But it's behind, not between that remains to be seen
And you'll quickly discover that it's not what it seems

wow you just keep coming with powerful amazing lines. the flow is excellent, the rhymes are great

A world without limitations
Barred by your own conscious thought
That's a different train of thought
That boarded long before it got caught
Solid, liquid, gas

to me, this is the weakest verse. i feel like the flow gets messed up here, but i could be wrong because you may have a different flow in mind

If I were you I'd stop asking questions, sit back and enjoy the ride
If I were you I'd live it up, take everything in my stride
If I were U this would be thus, you wouldn't need to comprehend
If I were U then sing would be sung and this song would have drawn to an end

this is a very good section. it is a very good break from all the other verses and i like the repitition

It's mind over matter
What's it going to be?
It's mind over what matters
What's it going to be?

i had to read this a few time, but i think i like it

A world without limitations
Barred by your own conscious thought
That's a different train of thought
That boarded long before it got caught
Solid, liquid, gas
The three states of mind
Another one who's left behind
Deformation of a different kind

This is a very strong song. i love the metaphors, i love the chorus, i love the repitition at the bridge. very very good.
