I'm looking for a good distortion pedal, that has good low and mid ends. Please keep it under 65ish.

looks like you should already have a good enough sound with the pedals you have, considering you have a tube screamer and a boss metal zone.

why not get an EQ to get that extra bass and mid boost?

Is there such a thing as a heavy riff with out chugging on the e string?

I personaly like the Digitech Bad Monkey, but if you want heavier things, I'd go with the Screamin' Blues. Not overkill, but a good solid distortion with plenty of mids (in my opinion, and I love mids) and a good high and low adjust knob. Both should run you about 40ish to 50 (USD).

Alright. Ds1 it is. I love my metal zone, it's just a bit trebly.

How much would I be looking at for an EQ?

Add about 30 more bucks to that and you can getcha a Metal Muff.

I have one and it has more mids and low end than any metal distortion out there.

If you're interested in sound, PM me and I can make you some sound clips, but I won't be able to host them up until tomorrow.

99 dollars for an eq.

or, you can get the Mega Distortion.

it's only 79, but it also has bottom and tone controls. I played it at guitar center and it sounded really nice.

The reason your lacking is your amp. Look at small tube combos (5 watts) for like 250 dollars, like the blackheart and valve junior amps.

EDIT: like this:

Interesting. It turns out that there are people on the forum who play an upright bass. I'll make a note of that.

*makes note*

*puts note on wall*

*stares at note for a minute*

*sits back down and resumes doing what I was doing*

My amp??!

You must be kidding. I jammed with this thing, and damn it sounds good. my friend uses a 120watt crate, and it isn't even as loud as mine!

I love the sound of my amp, and he played on mine with his Jackson RR, and damn, I loved it
