I was thinking of getting a Line 6 Spider III 120W for a new amp. Can anyone tell me how good they are and basically your opinions/ alternatives? The extra features on that thing seem to good to turn down.

Also same deal with the Ibanez RGT42FX it seems like a wicked guitar for its price just what i'm looking for plus its neck thru. Any thoughtS?

i got a spider ll recently and its basically the same except you dont get all those preset tones you get around 12 but most of the presets sound basically the same anyway and you'll get the ll waaay cheaper than the lll
play em see what you think
dunno bout the Ibanez though never played one

Because you're looking at 100+ watt amps (which you don't need) I assume you're gigging?
What genres of music are you playing?
How much do you have to spend?

For the best tingle, use Original Source mint. That shit feels amazing on your balls.

Do you gig?
If yes, don't buy it, it sounds like ****
If no, don't buy it, it sounds like **** and is too loud for just bedroom playing. You could get something much better for the money like:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Palomino-v16-Class-A-Tube-Combo-Amp?sku=487826
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Crate-V-Series-V18112-18W-1x12-Tube-Guitar-Combo-Amp?sku=487051

And if you save a bit more:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/B52-60Watt-1x12-Tube-Combo?sku=480046X
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Laney-LC15-15W-1x10-Tube-Guitar-Combo-Amp?sku=481329

edit: That guitar looks nice though

I wouldn't reccomend that spider, theyre all fine and good if you just want the 15 watt version for jamming in your bedroom. But once you get to the zillion watters, theyre basically just oversized practice amps.

Most of UG will agree that they sounds digital and fizzy and over saturated and you could do better for the money.

The Roland Cube 60 and the Vox AD50VT are much better alternatives.

Wicked thanks for the comments yeah I don't gig I just want one to practice and piss around on in the house that sounds good. I want sometihng relatively versatile but mostly metal and high gain stuff is what I play

In that case i'd just go for a Roland cube 30- better (imo..but try it and you'll find out why) in general, particularly high-gain stuff.
120watts is just not needed.

If you dont gig you wont need anything more than the 30 tbh. You can still get over drums with it. You can get 10 watt SS over drums, granted with no headroom and lifted off the floor for better sound dispersion, but its possible.

the guitar's awesome, the amp, go for the cube.

I have the Ibanez RGT42DXFX, which is basically the same but with different inlays and it's discontinued now. It's an awesome guitar, I'd definitely recommend it. You probably want to get a decent amp first though.
Got on the bus with me daysavaaaa
