i have a few questions about my amp. i own it, but i dont feel like im getting as much out of it as possible, i use boss pedals (ds-1, mt-2, oc-3 and a wah and a line 6 pedal) and it seems like im getting my main volume from the pedals, i barely turn the master volume up over 2. however, when i use the pedals, sometimes i get a ringing. basically i need a few settings.
1. a really super clean setting
2. a 70's rock setting, zeppelin oriented
3. a heavy dream theater setting

any help is appreciated

settings thread and a new amp

but mainly a new amp
Get off this damn forum and play your damn guitar.

1. Use the clean channel.
2. Use Drive channel: Low to mid gain: Bass=6 mids=10 treble=4-7
3. Use Dive channel: Gain at like 7 or 8. Same settings as above, just use the contour knob to set mids to your liking.

^Probably a good point.

I dunno, at this point, if you still don't like it, might be time for a new amp. Sell the MG, the Line 6 Distortion, and the MT-2, and that should be a nice amount for a good amp, with a bit more saving.

i have my pedal volumes on like half, but ill turn it down. however, i have a really hard time giving up equipment, even if it is for better newer equipment...

You shouldn't have a hard time parting with an MG HalfStack.

Play some good tube amps and you'll quickly find yourself chucking it on eBay

ive played with tube amps, i mean theyre nice and all, but the only tube amp ive ever played that was sick enough to actually consider, was the kerry king signature, which is close to 2000 dollars. im 17, and getting 2000 dollars, is not easy, especially for a kid who at the moment doesnt work.

Erm, what tube amps have you played?

For a Zeppelin type sound, you don't need the KFK JCM800.

This is true. I can get a sick Zeppelin tone out of a Blues Junior and what do those go for? Like 300 bucks?

ive also played my friends dender deville and he bought it used and it was set up by some guy who put different tubes in it, and im not crazy about that either, its too warm for my liking. the only time that made me go "holy **** that amp is sick" was when he had his boss overdrive pedal hooked up.

I thought they were 600 brand new? Huh, nope, 450. Much better deal.

Peavey Classic 30's can do it too, and they go for around 350-500 bucks.

Lets make the list complete and throw in the Palomino.

I really don't like Hot Rod Devilles.

It sounds like you want a really British tone. So of course you won't like an HRD.
