If you've got GarageBand, I'd suggest importing it there and then exporting it out as a .mp3.

It sounds way better than just resaving the midi.

MIDI files aren't audio files, just data that triggers samples on a synthesizer, probably the Softsynth built into your computer. Anyway, if you export the file as a .mid file you can convert it into a .wav file (can take a while though) and then from then convert it to a .mp3 file. Hope that helped.
