Okay, if someone actually solves it, he/she can get an e-cookie

But seriously, this is kind of too much.. I can see a 10th dimensional rubik's cube happening (and I can see people actually solving them)..

But anyways, enjoy
It is free to use, it is in java, and it has some cool colours and spin movements.

That doesn't make sense... seeing as the 4th dimension is time, and it's the only dimension that we have no ability to sense. Though I have no clue what I'm talking about so completely disregard what I just said.
I can honestly say I have really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

It is the geometrical 4th dimension by the way.
The one you are talking about is the Einstenian 4th dimension I think...

Well theres a difference between spatial and time dimensions. Scientists theorize that there are two time dimensions and about 13 spatial...
well I won't get into it. If you really want to you can read up on it yourself. Cool stuff that makes you question life and the universe and stuff.
But 4 spatial dimensions is what this is.
If you think things can't get worse it's probably only because you lack sufficient imagination.

You'd need to be able to see in four dimensions.

am I hurting anyone with this?

this should get you started if you need to know more.

(according to the web, there are like only 3 people in the world who could solve it)

You should try the 120-cell and other games that are of this kind

EDIT: Also, if you go to the Mindf*ck thread, I have there posted an animated development of a tesseract (you know, the "net" or something like that) to help people uderstand it better...and also a pic of a 10 dimensional cube

Wow. I have a friend who would have a ball with this.

He has around 10 different kinds of Rubik's Cubes, like one that even changes shape as you twist it, a giant neon one, and a 5x5 and he can still figure them all out, and some with immense speed.

I'll have to show this to him tomorrow.

Okay.

I can understand the 1st through 3rd dimensions. It's all good.

I can now see what makes the 4th dimension in the pic, but the 5th dimension pic just boggles me..... ¬_⌐

haha

No, it's like a square, but when you turn it, a side will poke out into a pyramid thing.

It's REALLY weird, but it's really cool.

Also, he has a 12 sided one. THAT one takes him a while.

1D - length
2D - length + width
3D - length + width + depth
4D - length + width + depth + time and space?
thats what i can recall.

Well, the way I see it, at least, in the pic, the 4th dimension is two 3 dimensional shapes interconnecting and being connected.

It's two rectangonal prisms intersecting, then having another plane added to the inbetween each corner.

Yeah....that's a pretty bad explanation, but I can see it.

Think of it this way. A cube drawn on paper is a projection of a 3d cube onto 2d space. In doing so, you lose some clarity and the ability to have all right angles. So in 3d space a cube is made out of all right angles just like in 2d space a square is too.

Now, when you project a tesseract onto 2d space you lose quite a bit of clarity. If you were to project it to 3d space you'd loose less and in 4d space it would be all right angles.

Oh and a 4d cube contains data for height, width, length, and ana/kata (the name of the new direction).

Fun stuff.

now think of negative dimensions.
If you think things can't get worse it's probably only because you lack sufficient imagination.
