There are genres that are suffixed with '-core' in them such as:

Hardcore
Softcore
Rapcore
Metalcore
Subcore

I still have yet to figure out what the '-core' means in all these genres. Can someone please answer my question?

Hardcore influenced.

Hardcore isn't a "-core" genre, it's what gives all of them their suffix.

Metalcore= Hardcore with metal influence.

Mathcore= Hardcore with math rock influence.

etc.
