i was just wondering if anyone else out there was as horrendously ocd with music stuff as i am?

examples, i absolutely HAVE to correct the genre's on my ipod and make them exactly correct. i don't have a single song thats just "rock." i have everything from garage rock to NWOBHM to old school hip hop. i spent about 2 hours total looking each band up to make sure i got it right (wikipedia is GOD)
also, i clean my guitar like twice a week. mostly cuz i take pleasure in it
and i categorize my cd collection by genre, then date
and every time i'm not playing i unplug my pedals and wrap up each cable

anyway, i was just wondering if anyone else was as weird about that kinda stuff as me
stuff:
guitar.
amp.
acoustic.

Er...Not quite to the extent to you are but I hate when the album art isn't displayed on WM player 11.

what exactly is NWOBHM? I do the same thing with my ipod, I have to capitalize every word otherwise it just looks ugly to me.

I don't know how many times I've reformatted my iPod and recategorized it to my artists and albums in a certain order....seems like a daily thing...I need help

I have to have my guitar in tune as perfectly as I can get it...

if someone else is out of tune, I'll usually tell them, making me look like an arse.

I'm not that bad, i have to make sure track names and such are correct on itunes, i dont bother with genre though, genre is just a lame thing anyway, music is music.

I like things alpha too.

and going off topic a bit my room just feels wrong without atleast one mug lying around, as a soon as i notice i dont have have i need to go get some coffee.. :/

Genre is the biggest thing of all... it has to be correct
Every album has to have album artwork.
Every song title has to be the exact song title, no track 1 or anything like that
There has to be more than 1 song per artist, or it doesn't go on my ipod
I HAVE to listen to the same song at least twice before i change it (i have no idea why)

I categorize my CDs by band and order them by the dates the CDs were released, but that's all.

people who cut a song off with a few seconds left on it. one time i almost broke up with my girlfriend after the fight she started during Stairway to Heaven- "And shes buying a stairway to----"

"WHAT THE **** YOU BITCH I LISTENED TO THE WHOLE DAMN SONG AND YOU JUST KILLED IT!!!!"

some people got no respect

for the ones who asked, NWOBHM is the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.

I have to have all of my album artwork on my iPod or it just bugs me

A friend of mine cut off Lateralus just before the outro. BEFORE THE OUTRO??!!

I was horrified.

I need each song to have the correct title, artist, and genre. Because of that, i hate limewire with a passion because people just stick whatever tite/artist they want. I once got a Brand New song in the Porn Groove genre - no joke.
This is my signature. There are many like it but this one is MINE.

i know a kid who cannot have an artist's music if he doesn't have at least a few cd's. No single songs aloud.

oh limewire sucks for the correct information

either that, or metallica DID write stairway to heaven.... ****ing internet

All my artists, album art(I once had a Hendrix album that somehow got to Sabbath), genres(Deep Purple is not POP!), all perfect. Also, on my black guitar, it has to be very shiny. No smudges.

+1000000

yeah, i refuse to pause any song longer than 7 minutes and i ignore anyone if they try talking to me

and i once spent about 2 and a half hours getting all my album art on itunes, which sucked cuz only like 2 albums could get it automatically. so for every single song i had to copy the album to it off google images

and yeah, NWOBHM is like 80's heavy metal, judas priest, iron maiden, ect
stuff:
guitar.
amp.
acoustic.

All my albums have to have art, but ONLY if I have the full album.

Slightly OT, but when I'm driving, the stereo volume has to be on multiples of 5. 5, 10, 15, 20 etc.

The airvents also have to be lined up.

I have to have the albums in order of release date, sucks that I dont know how to do that on my ipod.

When I'm playing, whenever I'm about to go into something fast or do a quick change of 3 fingers or more into a completely different chord shape, I can't do it unless it feels "right". It's difficult to describe, but basically I have to keep trying again and again until I get the one where it feels "right" so I can continue playing. As you can imagine, it's extremely aggravating because it makes me look like I have no idea what I'm doing.

Not trying to flame here, but that kinda stuff doesn't sound too bad to me. I have OCD in various things, but most people I know do CD orders and correct their iPod etc. Maybe it's just me but I sorta take that as a normal thing to do. I guess it's hard to say though unless you're you - like if you just do it because you like to be orderly then it's not really bad OCD, but if it plays on your mind constantly if somethings wrong then I suppose it is.
