i have a schecter gryphon, and am gonna get a dirty fingers pickup in my bridge practicing on a 15 watt spider iii, im gonna get a new amp but not sure wich one to buy.

notice how the distortion is distorted yet at the same time not distorted. it kinda has a unique sound to it. and the cleans have a little buzz in them too .

what can i do to get that tone??? and also i need the tone live cuz i will be playing gigs covering blink songs. will i use distortion from the amp or pedal???

what amp? pedal? effects? live sound?

but seriously all you really need is pedal and then just set the distortion low and then have the gain on your amp set low so that when you turn off the pedal you have your buzz oin the clean or im pretty sure line 6 has some sort of blink 182 tone if you get one of their better amps

make your own tone. dont emulate someone elses. by the way, tom used mesas when he was in blink 182...so get some cash.

Dirty fingers will do you NO good without a tube amp. Why not get 2 dirty fingers? That's what I run. You can get away with it just in your bridge, but it's killer on the neck pickup as well. The tone you are talking about, at least I think you are, is obtained through my amp by using the "Pushed" Setting on channel 1. I am referring to the opening of the first song. The rest of the song I would play on channel 2, but have the gain pretty low.

Get a decent tube amp. you do not NEED a half stack either. You can get a decent combo for a reasonable price. I cannot answer your question on pedals, I don't use many of them. I have NO distortion pedal. If I cannot get the sound I want from my amp, I wasted my money.
