each amp is different... but you probably want a bit of a mid scoop.

try something along these lines.
bass: 4-6
mid: 2-3
treble: 7-8

i dunno, probably the louder you're permitted to turn up your amp, the better.

but you're probably looking for more preamp saturation, so keeping the gain channel volumes relatively high should give you some gain.

then turn up your master volume as loud as you want.

Why don't you youtube the amp you have, and find a video that you like the tone? Once you do that, ask the guy for his EQ settings in a PM.

for me i dont like the sound of scooped mids, you should try turning your mids up, it will be able to cut through everyone else better if you dont cut your mids and you are playing with a band

my mids are at 5, past 7 and it gets abit weird sounding

yeah, it really depends on the amp concerning mids. my whole setup naturally has a crapload of mids, which makes my tone way too boxy and honky. so i usually scoop mine a bit.

so even though the numbers on an amp may not seem to agree with general consensus, it's more important to use your ears.
