I am still quite new to the world of bass. I have to practice through headphones on my practice guitar amp, and I know not to run my bass through my good amp, so i was wondering if the new fender bassmans are any good. if not, please suggest a good combo amp for $750 or less (USD), preferably less.

edit-By the way, I need enough power to do small gigs with.

I used to own a Fender Bassman 250, and it was a fantastic amp. Great tone, great EQ, a good amount of power, and easy to cart around. Very high-quality: American-made speakers and plywood cabs.

If you're looking to maximize your dollar and have faith, check out Carvin's stuff. Their stuff is literally half the price of major manufacturers because they sell directly to you.

I was looking at a used Warwick Vampyre LTD 5'er for about $200. I went home to grab my wallet and came back and some jerk with an epic beard got it already..
