I had a good 25 minute go on a guitar I've been looking at,
It's in the £250-£350 ($500-$600) range, i.e Mexican tele.
I had my eyes on a mex strat/tele but really didn't like how they felt so I decided to give a PRS SE EG a go.
The paul reed smith sounded and felt much nicer, it was much lighter and I'd reccomend it to anyone over the mexican fenders.
The action was stupidly low, felt like playing on air :-) got nothing at all bad to say about it. also its
Spec sheet:

Body - Mahogany
Neck - Mahogany, 22 fret, 10 in radius, 25 in scale, Moon Inlays, Wide-fat neck carve
Hardware - PRS designed stop tail, PRS designed non-locking tuners
Electronics - 3 Single Coil Pickups, 5-way blade switch, Tone and volume control
Finish - Antique White with Tortoise Shell Pickguard.

I also know it had a set-in neck as opposed to a bolt on.

anyone who owns one of these want to post any comments after extended use?
I love this machine, I will be buying it.

well im a strat man myself, but prs are a company that wont even sell a slightly damaged guitar as a second, they'll just burn it.so your pretty much guaranteed quality with them, and the se santana is also a great lp alternative

thats the one i was looking at. they had a dark sunburst one but I felt like something less ordinary. this appealed to me.
I do dislike the white head though, id' have preferred something that stood out less.
the white isn't that bright in real life, its sort toned and vintage.

looks nicer with white pot knobs and pup covers
