I'm looking to give my amp more gain without really changing the tone. My budget is up to $150. I play death metal such as Decapitated and Necrophagist so I want a nice tight sound while being both brutal and clear. I would really like to get an overdrive for all the reasons stated so all input is appreciated.

She had her period.

The Maxon OD808 is actually a TS-10.

The Maxon OD9 is the vintage Tubescreamer-808 clone.
The Laney Thread are big and clever. No exceptions.

Many metal players use Tubescreamers to tighten their bottom end. And the 808 is hailed as the best tubescreamer, Maxon OD9 is an 808 clone. So i say that.

Thanks so the maxon od-9 is the ts-808 clone and the maxon 808 is the ts10 clone
