Recently I've been pretty bored with metal. I mainly listen to death metal, but I'm open to all kinds of metal. I haven't found any really stand out bands. There's a lot of metal bands out there, but 90% of them all sound the same. So can anyone suggest me some REALLY good metal?

SO if Janne and Alexi did a gay porn, would I be the only one willing to buy it?

That's a dumb question, you know everyone in here would buy it too. I know I would!

Cynic - How Could I

Cynic - Textures

The live versions are actually better than the actual recording.

I disagree Slipknot is more technical than Necrophagist and more brutal than Suffocation, that's why I do hardcore dances to it with my 14 year old friends.

Listen to Ska!

Also, so you guys don't rape me:

Angra
3 Inches of Blood
Kreator
Municipal Waste

Ska all sounds the same, my friend played me 3 songs and I was already bored of the genre.

Cynic and Atheist are always good choices but for some interesting metal try Between the Buried and Me or Meshuggah.
R.I.P. My Signature. Lost to us in the great Signature Massacre of 2014.

YES 3 inches of blood. If your sick of death metal, these guys are perfect. ****in badass guitar playing, and the singer is unbelievable. He doesnt scream often and has a high pitched, almost king diamond voice, but not that cheesy. Also even though it its stating the obvious, Lamb of God is an obvious choice.
I think I ate your chocolate Squirrel.

MESHUGGAH. They will amaze and keep you guessing constantly.
OPETH. There is no band like Opeth. Too much diversity. You will find somehing of theirs you like, no matter who you are, bar none.

What kind of metal are you looking for ? Black ? Thrash ? technical death ?

In tech death i recommand Necrophagist, Atheist, Cynic, later-Death, Quo Vadis and Cryptopsy.

i also HIGHLY recommand Wintersun, actually it's a mix between Folk/viking metal - Power metal - melodic death metal - progressive metal, and the guy ( Jari Mäenpää plays guitar/bass/keyboard/sing on their first and only album, he calls his style "Extreme Majestic Technical Epic Melodic Metal" he also was in ensiferum.

And I also recommand Burzum, a black metal one-man band but i'm sure you know ...

Also Augury, a Progressive/technical death metal with Opera-style female voices, very very interesting. Like the whole atmosphere of the band.

And Lykathea Aflame, only one album, "Elvenefris", they play a higly technical Ambiant/oriental prog Death-Grind. Love the lyrics (philosophie of universal harmony)

Orphaned Land are also very cool, progressive oriental Heavy/death/doom metal from Israel, a lot of folk influence, and the lyrics a very meaningfull (peace between religions etc)

In thrash metal: Coroner, awseome old school technical/prog thrash band from Switzerland, they play very catchy and dark technical thrash, their guitarist is really really underrated, he really shreds, gotta try the album "RIP" and "Punishment For Decadence", they have a few neo-classical influence.

And also Dark Angel, very awseome thrash band, "Darkness Descends" from 1986 is a album in the same veine as Pleasure to kill and Reign In Blood, but a lot more Darker, maybe more technical.

Second SiKth
maybe you should try branching out to some other styles of music.
I find that the more styles you listen to, the more metal seems less boring.
But yeah Sikth and Ephel Duath are my suggestions.
Also, Meshuggah and Periphery if your looking for some more heavier metal.
And you can't spell funeral
without fun
hope you had a good time
cuz now your life is done

If metal bores you move on to something else. Tune into that classical music radio station. Pick up a Santana album or Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Actually, 3iob has two singers. Cam Pipes does the clean, high pitched vocals and Jamie Hooper does the screaming, but their guitarist is doing the screaming while they are touring right now cause Jamie has a throat problem or something.

But anyways if 3 Inches isn't up your alley try out some Wintersun, Gojira, Into Eternity.
