I don't think competitive eating is a good idea in the long run.

I couldn't eat 5 hot dogs (I think i'd hit a wall at 3 actually) but I bet there's some fat-ass out there who can
#4
Or some skinny asian dood. :P

It's kinda interesting though. Not really my thing in terms of staying up to date with people who do it.

I think it's a positive career option for some americans out there. it's not for me though, one hotdog fills me up quite well.

Haha when we were high, me and a friend decided to see who could eat ten tins of 27p baked beans the fastest and keep it down. Man were we gassy the next morning
ohai little sig.

Gotta give it to Kobaiyashi though. That guy is a remorseless eating machine. Plus he's got his own version of the 'truffle shuffle' to wiggle his food down.

it'd be cool on like a small level, like local fairs and stuff... but it really doesn't need a place any bigger than that

next thing you know people will be calling golf a sport

I really don't mind it, but what gets me is the whole "sport" thing. I don't know if it could qualify as a sport. I find it quite silly.

But man, kudos to those who can eat that much.
#12
I for one would never do it.

Nothing's more American than competitive eating! But it is pretty impressive when people can eat over fifty hotdogs in only one sitting.
