The high E on my guitar makes a very strange warbling sound when a fret it, bend it or do anything with it, any suggestions? (On how to fix it.)

sometimes for me, the strip at the bottom of the head that all the strings pass through can get busted up a bit and mute out the string and cut all the sound.

sounds to me like it is fretting out but that would go against the action. maybe the saddle or maybe just the string. try the cheapast thing first which is the string
