I can hear myself picking through my amp. It doesn't matter what channel I am on, or what position my pickup select switch is on. EQ wont fix it but it can mask it a little as well as my tone knob, but that also changes my sound which I don't like. Also gain doesn't effect it. I use jazz lll picks, I have also tried some fender ones too with no luck. This does get a little aggravating.

My setup
DSL100
Ibanez rg prestige
with dimarzio norton in the bridge
dimarzio paf pro in the neck
and the stock pickup in the middle

I use a monster cable (rock 12 ft) plugged directly in the front. I have bypassed my pedals by disconnecting them.

I don't know if its my pickups. I put them in myself. They work great, I am good at soldering so I feel I did a good job. I put them in before I got the amp so I don't know if its them. I started to notice it a few weeks ago. Now that I know its there I can hear it louder. My friend who plays says he can barley hear it but it bothers me.

Is there anything I can do to fix it? Is it normal? Could this be a bad ground in my guitar or something?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

How high are your pickups? Maybe try lowering them, or not picking over them.
It's normal for me, I can hear my picking.

Didn't you say that you had a stuffed fox that you would occasionally fuck?

marshall = pick attack.

if you don't like hearing your pick attack, then u shoulda bought another amp imo. i love the pick attack myself. i have my presence maxed out on my blues jr (presence knob doesn't even exist either. )

My pickups are about 2mm under my strings when I press the 24th fret. So it is normal to hear this pick attack sound?

Well thanks for letting me know.

its wierd if u didn't hear the pick attack. eric johnson hates pick attacks. he picks upward sometimes. but i still hear his pick attack.
