I'm ordering a guitar through my school tomorrow so I save VAT. I've decided on the American Deluxe, however I noticed that there's an ash version also available for only a little bit more. Considering I'm already saving a lot, I figure maybe I should.

Help me decide...

Ash American Deluxe Stratocaster in Aged Cherry Sunburst w/ Rosewood Neck

or

American Deluxe Stratocaster in Tabaco Sunburst w/ Rosewood Neck

I prefer the look of the Aged Cherry Sunburst, the Ash version has all the same features as the usual American Deluxe. So really I just need to know if there are any other massive differences?

I play funk in a band and I myself love Hendrix, Mayer, Frusciante - that sort of stuff.

Thanks!

Go with this one. I think it is what you are looking for.

the ash is more durable and a bit warmer sounding.
The american deluxe is gonna be brighter sounding.
I'd say ash but it's up to you!

american deluxe, screw ash!

You do realise that they are BOTH american deluxe models, its just that one is made out of Ash, and so costs a lil' bit more.

I recomend Ash.

Ash should provide greater articulation, and a hint of Tele feel.
