What kind of Marshall stack amp is that? Because if it is an MG, that is most likely why your tone sounds bad. And no pedal is gonna fix that...

The hotbar should be floating parallel to the principle axis at this point. Next, take a hammer, and beat yourself in the face while crying JIHAD. problem fixed.

a compressor probably wouldn't help make you sound 'better,' but it'd help smooth out the levels, and give you more sustain if you want. also more noise...

what marshall stack amp are you using?

I'm disappointed with my Boss Compressor. I feel it compresses way to much and takes the color out of my tone. If given the choice, I'd choose the chorus.

The chorus won't make you louder though. I'm a bit confused with your approach.

Edit: Just saw your post. Killer amp. I guess you could get an overdrive.

i hear the boss compressor sucks... a lot. never tried though. my byoc compressor should arrive either tomorrow or monday () so i'll let you know how that works out. i dunno, i just don't really agree with many of boss's pedals. they're not horrible for the most part... they're more like average joe.
