I've been listening to a lot of Yngwie (I know I know) but I can't get enough of his tone, it's awesome! Krakatau from Odyssey is unreal.

But my favourite guitar instrumental album is "Flying in a blue dream" by Satriani, it came out the year after I started playing guitar and blew me away!

Yeah "Perpetual Burn" is a great album! I also forgot to mention a couple of newer albums that I've had on repeat recently:

Paul Gilbert - Get Out Of My Yard
Mattias Eklundh - Freak Guitar - The Road Less Traveled

Joe Satriani's strange beautiful music album was the first instrumental album I heard and it's still my favourite. Satriani's stuff ranks far up there. Yngwie had a lot of vocal sections throughout the years and they frankly ruined some of his masterpieces.

I also enjoy Rusty Cooley's work.

I can't stand his instrumental work but the stuff from Outworld (with vocals) is some pretty hot stuff.
