So, my school is having a cafe night.
And one of my friends ran around school telling everyone that i was awesome at guitar, and now all my friends want me to play guitar...
but the problem is a:
i dont sing
b:
I dont know any songs suitable for acoustic.

I mean, i guess i could do some improv blues...for like 5 minutes...
But what else?

play something everyone will recognize. or just some catchy tunes, my school had one of these and some one played the general by dispatch and it was a big hit. so just play something that you think the people at your school would like

edit: get some bitch to sing.

You must know some songs that are good to transfer to acoustic so just play those; generally anything that's not too single-note-y and nothing with a solo if you're going to play unnacompanied.

See, thats what i dont like,
I dont think my voice sounds good, and it'd be hard to play and not bore people to hell, without a solo.
And solos just dont sound right without backing
Quote by Ahyoka
You could play Sweet Home Alabama

I could probably play every mothers son or am i losin by them though, its too bad i cant play those solos, they're the first 2 i figured out by myself.

That acoustic instrumental is full of win

a good song, but since its not going to be my guitar, i cant really do alternate tunings, other than like half step down.

haha good times i did a fwe in my day. this is what i do:

download backing tracks for covers and make backing trakcs for originals u like to play, maybe get a few jam tracks, play those through a stereo or PA or something (controlled stereo is the best way to adjust for volume :-D) and jam along to ure amp, and there ya go, u got ureself a concert!
dude, what about an actual solo in death metal instead of that poof from linkin park. Think of Pulse of the Maggots - Bed Of Razors

Maybe Message in a Bottle or Johhny B. Goode with backing tracks like the dude above me said then?

Who said anything about singing? There are plenty of songs without vocals for acoustic. And then there's Alice's Restaurant...

I don't recommend it.

**** you. It will still sound good. If you dont **** it up. I hate it when people only want to play stuff a large crowd will know.

A friend of mine has figured out "Get Low" on his acoustic, and it's a true crowd-pleaser.
Maybe something like Sugarcult's "Memory?"
I know, not the finest ideas, but you aren't performing for UGers. These are average, easily appeased folk you're working with.

Jack Johnson or one of the Foo Fighters acoustic songs from In Your Honor like Virginia Moon. They may not recognize them but their pretty chill songs for that enviroment.
