When do you think crappy metalcore will die? What will replace it?

I think the end is near for crappy metalcore, chugga chugga breakdowns and the like are extremely played out by now. I think a fast thrashcore type sound will emerge, what do you guys think?

Keyboardcore emerges and gains even more notoriety(Because we all know the only band who can pull it off is HORSE the band). We all wish for chugga chugga breakdowns instead.
Studies have shown that 92% of guitar players are close-minded. Copy this into your signature if you're part of the 8% who enjoy rap.

haha im sorry but you are totally wrong, but considering the bands in your profile i can see why you are uninformed:

Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Korn, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Mindless Self Indulgence, System Of A Down

I thought it might have been gone when some of the kids in my area got into real hardcore, but then I noticed that in grade 9 at my school there are at least 7 girls that sport Victory merch every day.

Exactly what I was thinking.
So long as music exist, bad music will co-exist along with it.

I think as long as hardcore and its variations are around, metalcore will be, but my point is that everything will die out eventually, the human race included.

No, not retarded, just ignorant. Listen to some Benumb, some Pig Destroyer and some Swallowing Sh*t. You'll see a pattern, grindcore largely avoids the judjuds.

If every band did breakdowns like All Shall Perish, I wouldn't mind them.

But, yeah, they won't die as long as there are those "hardcore" kids out there who think it's cool to like them.

Call it alternative metal, since it's definiently not *core anymore.

___________

I can't see it happen in next 3 ( thought there are very strong bands that definiently will achieve success in horizon ) years, but withing next 10 years metalcore will definiently die out .

Hmmm..which is the greater evil: generic metalcore, shitty deathcore, or annoying techno "scene" "grind" ?

I think deathcore is the new metalcore (yeah..old news I know) because people feel the need to get br00taler, of course without actually becoming straight metal.

And "scene grind" bands seem to be bands that don't take themselves seriously and want to jam pack the most energetic riffs in to 1 minute (which is fine in the end), but I wish they wouldn't bring the word "grind" into it..because it has nothing to do with their music.

i disagree. they share a bunch of characteristics with grindcore. they just, for the most part, suck at it tremendously.the only good scene-ish grind i have yet to like is the band 25 Dollar Massacre. myspace.com/25dollarmassacre

So you found three grindcore bands that don't breakdown and that makes me ignorant? I've heard plenty of grindcore in my day, my local scene can't avoid the ****, and every band I've seen in person that plays grindcore does it in almost every song.

That isnb't grindcore. Scenegrind maybe,, but not actually griindcore.

So, even in the case of being wrong, wouldn't it make more sense to correct me, rather than insult my intelligence and music taste?

And regardless what grindcore really is, metalcore=/=breakdowns. Atleast not nearly as prevalent as I've seen in other metal genres.

****ty metalcore will die out eventually, probably just due to the fact that people will move on quicker than people will catch on.

I did correct you, immediately after insulting you and correcting my insult (ignorant isn't an insult if it's true, you're obviously ignorant about grindcore)... anyways...

Metalcore is widely known for overuse of <judjud> type riffs, to the point it's a widely known cliché, by both fans and detractors of the genre. To claim otherwise makes you seem ignorant of the genre.

Maybe all the bands that call themselves grindcore in your scene play endless variations of palm muted open-notes and squeals, but then they wouldn't be grindcore, they'd be metalcore, specifically of the 'crappy, simple deathcore' or 'scenegrind' variety.

And, it wasn't just any 'three bands', Pig Destroyer are probably the most commercially successful grindcore band ever. If you're not familiar with them, you're not familiar with the genre, period. PxDx are to grindcore what Cannibal Corpse is to death metal and Dimmu Borgir are to black metal. They're the one band in the genre that even the skinny blonde cheerleader chick in your math class has heard of.

Lastly, no one insulted your musical taste. Someone commented that your list of favourite bands reads exactly like the 'MTV Rebel Hard Rocker top picks'. This damages your credibility when making claims about your knowledge of underground music. Not many people who listen to Top 40 (even Modern Rock Top 40) have a through knowledge of underground music genres, any of them. So yes, we do think because of the music you listen to, you're unlikely to know much about grindcore. And when you say dumb ass things and insult the forum regs when they call you on it, you get made fun of, sigged for future lulz, or long winded posts that everyone will leave TL;DR after.

Getting rid of the insult would make more sense than correcting it. None of the metalcore I listen to involves large amounts of breakdowns, nor does it resemble the local scene. So I guess all the "grindcore" I've heard is just the title there using to be cool then. By the way, Dimmu isn't exactly the forefront of black metallers. "Tr00" black metallers hate Dimmu. lol.

And by the way, my music taste spans far across what's in that list, but I'm to lazy to finish the favorites list here.

I think there's going to be more fake thrash like the new BFMV (ashamed to say I know what they sound like...) and Trivium. The AILD/KSE/ABRB **** has been done enough that I think people are actually starting to get sick of it.

Bands looking for commercial success will push go for the pseudo-thrash thing. Bands who have been good metalcore bands will probably stay true to their style. And new bands will see who can be the brutalest without acctually being death metal.
