so... currently i have a digitech rp80. I'm definately looking into upgrading very soon, but i'm curious as to what i should upgrade to. I've been told going the stomp-box route is one that really gets you pure tones... but i move alot, and not short distances either. over seas mostly, so a nice big pedalboard would not necissarily be the most convenient. As a result i've been looking at GT-8s and such and i'm curious about the GT-8 and other effects processors as far as tone and reliability. I'm open to any suggestion so please tell me any set up that would be worth putting 500 dollars into.

A G-Major with a Midi Mate wouldn't break the budget by much, especially if one or the other can be found used.
