so, my school has a head and a few cabs that are from the mid 70's. theres a Peavey XR-500, peavey mark IV bass head, a peavey 2x15 bass cab, and 2 ross 1X15 + 1x7 cabs. the mark IV works great, but the XR-500 scratches when plugged in. would it be worth buying the XR-500 and the 2x15 off the school and fix the head, or the other cabs/head? or would it be better just to get a new system?

Obviously it depends on how much you can pick them up for and what exactly is wrong with the head. If I were in the situation I'd invest in something else.
