i need a good high gain amp. i dont really tune down a lot but i need something that wont get muddy when i crank it

You can get B-52 tube combos for about that much.

those are muddy when you don't crank them.

B-52s aren't all that great for high gain. Honestly unless you find a really good deal on a used Mesa or something I don't know of any really good high gain amps that are that cheap, maybe a randall solid state.

you can find a used peavey 5150 in a decent condition for under $600.
imho it will destroy any mesa or b-52 you can get for that kind of money.
