Ok I'm gonna have to go with the strat, as it sounds very single-coily and fairly thin. although I've never heard the rickenbacker, and the only gretsch tone that i can think of that I've heard is Chris Cheney's (The Living End).

But still, My guess is the strat

When do we find out which is right?

i dont know gretschs, but FOR SURE its the strat, i own one :p (mim strat, but they still sound alike)
ric's have a distinct sound, which is not that.

Actually, it IS A RIC 330!!!!!!!

I thought the dead giveaway was the mic picking up the acoustic sound from the guitar which is why I included the Gretsch in the list!

Thanks for guessing

Once again, a Rickenbacker is a very high quality and versitile guitar that can be sued for many different styles.

Run one through a little bit crunchy setup an it's a great (IMHO) sound.

Damn, i thought it was either a gretsch or a ric... i was so close to changing my vote lol

I'll post more of these when I get time. it's kind of fun to see what everyone says. Plus, I'm running everything really straight. The recordings sound pretty much like they do here in my room (providing you're listening through nice speakers) so it's a good way to show what a guitar or amp sounds like.
#15
well before I read the answer I said the gretsch. sounds kind of treebly for a strat
#16
too late, but I thought it was the ric, it isn't bright enough to be a strat.

So far I've been wrong in every one But just a wee suggestion, maybs put a poll in next time TS?

its so... muddy...

so much distortion that muddies up the whole brightness of the guitar.

I'd def agree with EC, but that just makes trying to figure out what the guitar is even more tricky IMO

the original amp test clip is better imo.
