I might buy this and a speaker for $130 to use for vocals during band practice. Will it be loud enough for practice do you think? and is it a good deal?

It works. I know a friend that has one. Old piece of equipment. But, if it works, 130 dollars is a good deal...

The hotbar should be floating parallel to the principle axis at this point. Next, take a hammer, and beat yourself in the face while crying JIHAD. problem fixed.

Also, it might not be as good of a deal as you think. Check that channel 1 bass pot. It is broken off...

POTs can always be replaced fairly easily but it only looks like the knob is missing which can be replaced with a different one easily as well.

I think Peavey makes some fairly good PA setups at a low price range.

I would say for $130 you should get it just to have, (I wouldn't turn a deal like that down...) If it doesn't work out you can always post it on ebay.

it looks like a powered mixer so pair it with the correct type speakers and you should be good to test.

edit, some links I found though google on this mixer:

Knowing the model # would be a huge help...

I don't think it is just the knob. It is the whole shaft too...

so open the head, look at the POT and replace it with a match and solder it in place...easy $5 job...

but if he's only using this for vocals I don't think he will even need all 4 channels.

edit
To the post below:
yea now that I have a close look at the image it does look like the shaft is snapped off close to the nut.

Thanks for all your input. its just for practice so we dont need to much power and we dont want to spend a lot of money. If i test it out and it runs fine do you think it will be loud enough for vocals?
