That would really depend on the amp in question.

Depends on amp. I usually have mine at 8-9, but also depends on how high the volume is
ohai little sig.

I have a cheap fender frontman 15G and anything above 5 sounds like shit.
So yeah, 8 is a lot for me.
Signature? What's a signature?

On what amp? That's a ridiculously vague question.
Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.

i keep my gain as far as it can go, i really like the fuzz but whenever i touch a string accidently it goes straight through to the amp so its really annoying. i need a new amp...

Depends on the amp. My VK is a gain monster, so about 7 is as high as I'll put it, while on my friends Carvin, he just puts it at 9 or 10 and it is right on the money.

depends what amp, a fender blues jr on 10 will have less gain than a rectifier on like 4.

mine's always on 12.

Depends on the amp... I just rotate mine until it gets really muddy and kick it back a notch. Usually in the 7-8 territory... But if i didnt have everything gain related turned on the it would probally be at like 15 lol

My VK doesn't go over 4 when I use it, but when the guitarist in my band uses it (I'm a bassist first) I put it up to about 8 to make him happy, it's fairly gainy at that point.

...because it's a crap thread, and the answer depends on the amp.

Also you're warned for the 'stfu ass' comment.
