I read somewhere that certain mods to certain stompboxes requires things such as capacitors and chips. I found these specific ones:

http://www.effectsconnection.com/oscommerce/product_info.php?cPath=36&products_id=247

are these the kind of things that would work in pedals? they have the same name as the ones I read the mod about. There is also a smaller kind of that 0.01uf thing, would that one be better?

I have absolutely no knowledge of electronics and I'm probably not patient enough to learn, thats why I'm asking it here. Thanks.

If they have the same value (uF, ohms, part number for the IC, w/e), then they will work.

It might be necessary to use a smaller part, to make it fit in a circuit that's already built, if you're doing a mod. Also, different types of capacitors will sound slightly different. In general, if it's not a ceramic, it should sound reasonably good.

Oh well.
You'd get better info if you invested the effort, read, used google, and learned more.
But if you want to just ask questions, you might do well enough to get by.

If you don't have the patience to learn anything, then don't even bother thinking of modding any pedals - you're just going to ruin them and waste your time and money. Even just a couple of hours of doing some research should give you a good insight into how things work - try reading all the links on this page, then buy yourself a basic soldering kit if you're really keen.
