I can remember the first time heard Spin the Black Circle by Pearl Jam. That was pretty epic. Actually, it's the first song I ever remember hearing. Smells Like Teen Spirit was pretty crazy. I hadn't heard of Nirvana when I heard it. Spoonman by Soundgarden. Ty Cobb by Spoonman. Incubus's Megalomaniac. Beck's Loser. A bunch.

When I heard Knights of Cydonia by Muse live

I had only heard Starlight on the radio and didn't like it that much. found it kind of annoying but someone on here was talking about how muse are great live preformers and said to look up knights of cydonia live on youtube... none the less my mind was blown

I'm hearing a steady *thump thump* from the people above me and I need some porno grooves to play on my bass to give them some background music. Any ideas?

The sublime self titled cd that my brother gave me. I remember i was in like 6th or 7th grade and I just listened to it every night. I used to flip through the cd booklet and remember all the lyrics to all the songs. I think that was a defining moment in my musical journey, they made me want to be a musician.

p.s I also thought Bradley Nowell was black before I saw him!

The Odyssey by Symphony X.

I only downloaded it because I like the Greek classics stuff.

The Odyssey and the Paradise Lost album as a whole just blew me away.

Painkiller by Judas Priest

Painkiller pwnd my soul.

For me, the most outstanding epic first-timers were:

Blind Guardian - And Then There Was Silence
Dream Theater - Octavarium

My life was never the same after those two songs.

It took me a while to get into the rest of the Odyssey album. The Odyssey and The Acolade II were the only songs that I loved from the first listen.

As for Paradise Lost, I just love the chanted parts that are in most of the songs
