It's a fifth generation 30 gig iPod classic, almost 2 years old. right now it's stuck on Now Playing and the backlight hasn't gone off for almost 12 hours. i've tried plugging it into my computer, but that didn't do anything. do you guys have any idea how to fix it?

It happened to me before. Leave it alone until the battery dies, then plug it into your computer. It should go back to normal.

Don't place it in the freezer?

umm. i think to put it in disk mode you hold menu and center for like 5 seconds then switch to play and center for 5 seconds. if that doesn't work then...go to ipod support on apple.com

ok. this is easy. switch the holdbutton on and off for about 30 seconds. then put the hold off. hold the top and middle button until it shuts down. shouldnt take long.
hope that helps

Same iPod as mine! Hold down the Menu and cirlce button. It should restart with the apple symbol. My iPod has been freezing a lot, ever since I got it...

This happens to my Video fairly frequently. Take darkstar's advice and just let it run out of battery. It should be okay when you re-charge it.

Put it in the microwave on defrost?

Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
