i've had my guitar since christmas and i've just been using the strings that came with it but now my low E string keeps going out of tune. so should i just buy new strings?

Yep. But don't just buy one for your E, replace them all (may sound obvious but I've seen so many people do it) EDIT: by do it I mean just get 1 string instead of a set.

Yeah and if it's still a problem look into setting up the guitar. A good setup can make a world of difference in playability. Anyways the string change SurfinWithSatch recommended should take care of it.
