ive heared how it is important to learn theory so what can i do for free to learn theory and is there certain websites on this. also how much time should i put into theory

Erm yes this one, maybe 20 minutes a day for a month and you can have all the basics covered, teh basics are really easy if you look at them in the right way. Just search theory in the search bar, youll get a zillion and one threads exactly.

Or look in the lesson section at a "Beginners Guide to Music Thoery" I think its called I learned alot from that.

Look up the crusade. Its under the columns on this site
it helped me a ton. It is really well written and covers everything from scales to harmonizing. TRY IT!!!
