Ok, I may have came up with this high, but either way I suprised myself by it. Now I think theoretically this could possible, but the technology just isn't there yet. I think teleportation is just a complex, alchemy thing. Now I know we can just rearrange protons and neutrons and create new elements. People for thousands of years have been trying to make elements into gold. Within the past 100 years, we have advanced a lot, and I feel sooner of later we will master the act of alchemy. Now for my theory. Say you count up all the protons, neutrons, electrons, and other subatomic particles in the object to be teleported. In the other side of the teleporter, you have that equal amount of mass. Now, you must calculate the structure, bonding, etc. of all the atoms in the object. This data could be transferred to the other side of the teleporter. The receiving device could then take the matter inside and reconfigure it to the exact specifications as the transmitting side. This would actually be more of a clone however, but you get the idea. Basically, you could turn a box of peanuts into a car, if the box was big enough and contained the same amount of mass as the car. I think there is a theory (Chaos Theory?) that can describe my idea better. I'm tired right now, so if I said something scientifically incorrect or there is a MAJOR flaw in my idea, let me know. I'm just trying to get my idea out there.

Inherent flaw, you are more likely to use controlled wormholes (a Stargate sort of thing) than alchemy to teleport, or magic scrolls. And chaos theory is the theory that essentially states that from chaos a pattern, algorithm, etc. can be formed naturally-- like with the Windows Media Player designs that occur when you play a song. They seem chaotic but are built on math equations and simple algorithm.

Yo this kid is awesome! The hardest part would be storing that amount of information, and finding a way to arrange subatomic particles
#9
you whould have to have some nuts to get to the same mass as a car

I know the whole alchemy thing is a stretch, but it seems more likely that wormholes or portals and stuff. I've been playing Half Life on the PS2 lately just out of the blue. It got me thinking, which sometimes is bad.

True teleportation has been achieved, or at least has been achieved on paper. The thing is, it would basically destroy your body, and leave an exact replica in another place, only without a mind.

Alchemy? I think they've been calling it nuclear chemistry/physics for the past few centuries.

I think you have an really oversimplified idea of protons, neutrons etc. and the overall complexity of stuff...

It's the same thing with going the speed of light, you would have to shed your mass, therefore, reducing your being to maybe a slight form of sentient light photons-- that's a stretch though, you may just become light minus sentience.

The problem with this is that a.) only one atom has been successfully transferred via this method-- that I've read and b.) one asshole with a mirror can really screw up your day as your body's light photon make- up would be refracted into space in all directions.

I'm only in Chem II, and I know my molecular knowledge is still small compared to all of what we know. I plan on going to college next year for either Electrical or Chemical Engineering. I love the intense Chem and Physics stuff, I just don't know how much in depth I will get into. What has been done on Earth that has been done? I know they have created microscopic black holes that lasted for milliseconds and stuff, but I just want to know if anything else that could lead to teleportation (well not black holes neccesarily, but you know what I mean) has been discovered.

Yes, I suppose this would be THEORETICALLY possible, but utterly impractical.

We have to smash the entire human down to a gush of subatomic particles, and then reassemble him/her flawlessly at the point of arrival. Tricky to say the least. And extremely time consuming. And, since your atomic makeup changes quite literally constantly, there may well be less/more of you when you get there.

I had an idea of something like this but it's rather impractical on a large scale.

It MAY be possible one day with exceedingly simply objects like carbon nanotubes or such.

Carbon nanotubes seem to be the answer for everything The one thing that would mess up a human is the cell processes like respiration, since the body is constantly recombining elements (not changing them).

LOL There is nothing nanotubes can't do! They can stop bullets, they can make toast...

I was simply drawing a simply structure out of the ether

But you have a point. Unless the body was disassembled so quickly as to literally respiration so dead as to....

Actually if you were teleported in this method, you'd be dead when you arrived xD You're right. Complete halt of respiration and brain activity lol

The government has been ever so clever in perpetrating the myth that there's an awful lot of secret technology being developed under Nevada or whatever.

As I say, it's probably a myth and they're as clueless as the rest of humanity.

and think about it this way, if this whole idea were to miraculously work would the person on the other end be the same person as went in, they would have the same brain and everything but in the end would it be the same person? Would their consciousness be able to be re-created flawlessly with every single one of the millions of signals being constantly sent by the brain perfectly re-created, and even so i'd have to guess that it would end up like sort of a clone with all the memories of the other body but the person who was on the sending side would cease to exist.
