My main instrument is guitar and I just got a new bass and I'm wondering am I doing any damage to my bass or my amp if I plug in a bass to a guitar amp, like... a Line 6 Spider II or a Marshal something 75 watt amp?

You could blow out the guitar amp, I believe. However, if you have a guitar and play it through a bass amp, you'll be ok.

If you plug a bass into a guitar amp nothing bad will happen as long as you don't turn it too loud and play slap bass, in which case you could rip the speaker.

what do you think would be the limit if I have a 75 watt amp before it blows out?

this man is right. a bass signal takes too much to run through a guitar amp, which results in a cracked speaker. a guitar through a bass amp, however, works just fine.
