Lol, I've had this Fender Starcaster since the beginning, It's definitely not amazing, but It gets the job done with My Vox 100w.

I like the feel of the strat 10x more than that of my Les Paul.

I was pondering the idea of dropping some cash on one of those new American Strats or and American Deluxe.

I realize it's better quality and stuff.

Do I really want it? Or is it just a waste of mah money If I already have this star(ter)caster?

Thx. Peace.

if it plays good, then who cares? only buy a new guitar if your really self-conscious about being on stage with it. but really, it doesnt matter

a starcaster does not dipict the quality and geuine tone and feel of a real strat or tele. i suggest you go for it.

In gr.8 we got into purple nurples so much that the school would suspend anyone they saw doing it. We had really good aim.

but if he likes the tone of this guitar, maybe he should keep it. i mean teles and strats are both awesome, but...what is a starcaster anyways? ive only heard of it. its by fender right?

If u can't tell the difference between a target guitar and a REAL guitar then why are you even playing guitar? I realized my starter LES PAUL was crappy after like 6 months on playing.

It's one of those starter guitars you can get at Best Buy. I highly doubt he has one of the real Starcasters, which were Fender Semi-Hollowbodied guitars.

No, at Target there is a strat copy that says STARCASTER on the headstock. The fender website also lists starcaster as a subsidiary

oh if you got it at best buy...well...just dont buy a guitar from a store that isnt a guitar store. get a strat man
#11
well i'd say you buy a mim strat. and with the leftover money splooge for a new tube amp. will improve your tone a metric ton
and the fact that MIM strats are fairly inexpensive (400) you have all the room in the world to customize it later down the road.

I don't REALLY like the tone, It's just... Not THAT terrible, with the amp, I can get a pretty alright Eric Johnson tone, to even an alright Metallica tone.

And I didn't buy it, It was a gift. My first guitar.

Basically, Im asking, if its worth the $1000.

I used to have one, the tone to me was always very tinny, and I really think that you'd benefit from a good strat, but basically any guitar would be an improvement. I think that you would be just fine with a MIM strat.
