My playlist just landed on Summer's End by Amorphis and i remembered how much i loved these guys a while back. Yeah, i know pointless thread, but post your rediscovered band, why you haven't been listening and what about them you love.

Sounds like fun to me. We can criticise people for forgetting bands and let others re-introduce us, or introduce us.

I love you =] I can't say I was very fond of you when we first started talking because you trolled the hell out of my threads, but after talking to you here I've grown very attached to you.

Yeah, write to my fanclub about it, honey.

Van Halen. I just got back from their concert, and it made me remember something...

"Jesus Hopscotching Christ, Eddie Van Halen is a god."

And his son has got to be, like, a seraph or something.

I was gonna say 311 because I recently got back into them. Another one for me is Bob Marley.

LMAO! I remember those books. I actually began reading them when Santana and whats-his-face from matchbox 20 released smooth. As a result of the radio overplaying that song, i ended up reading the books and always seamed to have that song playing in the background. So now when i hear Smooth i just think of teenagers turning into rodents.

Haven't actually heard it in a while....Might be something i could re-discover.

See how smart of me that was linking animorphs back to the topic....Im a genius

real heads like the black keys.

give them a listen, some of the best music that's come out in years.

Mastodon

I go through these sporadic spurts of just MASS listening and love for the band, and then I'll just "move on", for the lack of a better term.

And then I'll hear one song, remember why I love them so much, and, before I realise it, my guitar's back in D standard tuning.

So, in my case, it's rarely a "rediscovering", but more of a "rekindling". I never forget about a band for TOO long, unless it's from a LONG ass time ago, which isn't too often, sadly.

Led Zeppelin, actually. I used to listen to Led Zeppelin IV all the time when I was younger, but I haven't for a while, and I've forgotten how awesome a song Stairway to Heaven is.

For My Pain, I heard them a while back, and just kinda disregarded them. I heard the song Rapture Of My Lust today, and I was like "wtf?? why didn't I like these guys before?"

Nasum.

Just picked up their "Shift" album a day or so ago and got back into them. It's a really good album.

I listened to Incubus' Fungus Amongus and S.C.I.E.N.C.E. albums for the first time in about two years today. Great cds.

I also popped in Emperor's Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk the other day. I suddenly remembered why I loved them so much.

elliot smith ... started listening to more aggressive music for a while and since having to wake up earlier, searched for variety in a more sedated sound and i found an old copy of elliott smiths self titled album and play that on the way to work. couple others would be Red House Painters and Dead Meadow.

On a recent acid trip, I rediscovered just how good Pink Floyd really was.

If you had to be on acid to fully enjoy Pink Floyd, they can't be that good.

Interesting. It turns out that there are people on the forum who play an upright bass. I'll make a note of that.
