what do you mean by moving chords? do you mean moving the same chord into different positions (1st, 2nd etc) or changin from one chord to another...like a chord progression

srry I should of elaborated on it more. I meant moving the same chord to different positions on the neck.

right, the different positions are all based on open chords: E shape, G shape, C shape, D shape, A shape. Basically, you move the shapes up the nack, barring you first finger instead of playin open strings, and you find the root note on the relevent string...it's hard to explain, but that's the jist of it, moving the shapes up the neck to find the same chord in different places and different shapes, barring your first finger where there would have been open strings in the open position version of the chords...so you'll need to learn the notes on the fret board as well

sorry about the length, a guitar teacher would be able to show you better than we can describe it to you though

oh, and all chords will work in the differnt shapes, you just have to find the root note on the relevent string

Yup, slide the any chord around the neck, and the new chord will be the same tonality, only (number of frets) semitones higher, meaning it will have a new root note. You must remember that any notes on open strings must be moved as well.

Exactly. I was only stating that, because, although it may seem obvious to you, certain people don't think of it as obvious, and then wonder why
e -4-
b -4-
g -0-
D -0-
A -3-
E -4-

is not a G# chord, and why it sounds bad.
