i've been playing for a while but i don't take lessons or anything and i was wondering what does trill mean ?

In some examples, I've read a trill as playing the same note quickly. But usually trill is like, two or three notes played very quickly, you just alternate for effect...

let me find an example...

I know it's a flute, but listen to about 8 seconds. That's a trill.

A trill is a hammer on pull off thing. Example fret the 12 fret and rapidly hammer on and pull off the 13 fret as fast as you can.
