What is the run of the mill pickup upgrades for a Mexican made Fender Strat?

I want a humbucker in the back and two single coils in the front.

Price range is 75-125$ Per a pickup

In that price range you can get Frahlins or Kinmans. For the humbucker I highly recommend the pearly gates by SD. They work really well with a strats natural sound
Suhr Custom, Flaxwood Rautia or Grosh Tele thru
HBE Medicine Bawl Wah
Analogman BiComp
Texas Two Step OD
Fulltone Ultimate Octave/Fuzz
Boss CE-2
TC Nova Delay
SLO-100, 65 London or Bogner Shiva
Ask me about any of this stuff!

What amp do you have? Cause if you only have a mediocre amp it won't change your tone as much.

Also what type of music do you play?

People always tell me I solo like Zakk Wylde. Thats how I know that I suck.

the pearly gates is good. i have a dimarzio paf dp103 in the bridge of my strat, and it is really good for blues and rock, but if you play a lot of metal, its not your best option. it doesnt overpower the single coils either, so switching pickups during songs works fine

Hot Rails in the neck and middle is a little overkill for me for any guitar. If you get that combo you should've just bought a guitar with humbuckers.

I just recently put new pickups in my Strat and I'm really liking them. I was trying to get the most versatile set for the money and ended up going with a DiMarzio Tone Zone S in the bridge, HS-2 in the middle and YJM in the neck for $183 shipped. All three pickups sound great in it and MUCH better than the P.O.S. pickups that were in it before, I also have the Tone Zone set to coil split with a push/pull pot which gives me a really nice chimey clean sound with the middle pickup that isn't quite as warm as other combinations (kinda like my Mesa's cleans in regular singles as apposed to a Fender's cleans with the same pickups). I'd highly recommend any of them, though their might be better if you want to specialize in a certain genre

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

get a decent tube amp like a valveking or fender hot rod before you get new pickups
