I walked into a music store the other day and I found this gorgeous flat black gibson les paul. I took it into the testing room and I noticed it had 2 emg pickups. It had no pick guard or model name. It played so well I was amazed, I must have been in the room for atleast an hour. It was about $1600 before taxes. Can anybody tell me what this guitar is? I know its a les paul but of what variety? I can't seem to find it on google.

Thanks in advance.
I was living a lie, now I'm dying to know the truth...

If it had no pick guard, I would guess it was a Studio Model with a bit of price gouging. As for the EMG's they must be aftermarket installs. It could also be a used LP Classic, some of those had EMGS standard, and the pickguard may have been removed for aesthetics.

Thats an LP Studio II. DO NOT BUY that for $1600.00!!! that is an unbelievable rip off and they should be committed for putting that pricetag on it. You can get a standard or classic for that price.
