I have 300 dollars to spend on my second electric guitar. I don't need a huge upgrade but I want the best 300 bucks can buy. Currently I own a B.C. Rich Metal Master Warlock. I'm not a huge fan of B.C. Riches anymore, though. My two dream guitars are the Explorer and the SG. The 58 Epi Explorer is just out of reach, sadly, but I have been looking at this Epi vintage G400: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Vintage-G400-Electric-Guitar?sku=518669

Is there anything out there better than that SG? I play Rock and Metal through a DS-1 and a Traynor YGM-3 Guitar Mate amp. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

If your guitar is ok, I would suggest saving up to buy a better amp first...
