when you want to buy a new instrument, do you care if it's a famous one or not??

e.g: are you more interested in a keith richards guitar or in a basic fender telecaster?

I try to avoid things like signature models because then your just buying a replica of someone else's guitar which is only really appropriate if you're a collector in my opinion.
Though if I like the look of someone's guitar or how it sounds, then I will be inclined to try it.

i think its intersting too.
but i i wouldnt buy a guitar just because another guitarist had a model named after him

you're not forced to buy the guitar, but just to know.
e.g: I love this song, but what is the guitar, the amplifier, the eq..

^^When it comes to amps and pedals and such, that's a completely different story. I've bought pedals knowing that they were used by guitarists I like, in order to help me achieve a sound that is similar to those tones I enjoy.
How to achieve Frank Zappa's guitar tone:
Quote by Thefallofman
Step 1: Buy a Gibson SG
Step 2: Insert Green Ringer, EQ, 3 dead squirrels and a microwave into said SG
Step 3: Plug in and freak the **** out.
