Hi guys

I have a MIM strat, and I'm not really liking the neck. The neck is coated with polyurethane finish. Can I just send it in to just apply the nitrocellulose finish over the polyurethane finish of the neck, or do I have to strip down the finish before finishing the neck with nitrocellulose?

thanks

Why on earth would you do this? The feel of one is much the same as the feel of the other on a neck if they are glossy. Why don't you just start sanding the poly to a matte finish using 600 grit paper? The matte finish will feel much better, and when you eventually go through the finish, strip it entirely on the back of the neck and use Tung oil.
