Ok, I am a PC guy, but I have a friend who has a Mac and he wants to get a webcam. What is a good webcam for the mac and how much does it run?

Most Macs these days have them built in. It think they like running 2 - 3 times a week, depends on the weather though.

I think pretty much any webcam should work with a mac, all you need is hardware drivers. The webcam specific software won't work if it's not mac compatible tho.

nfi if you can jsut hook up a logitech quickcam type thing

edit2: apparently you need to **** around a bit for ichat to recognize a usb camera, but it can be done

Shush, unless you have ever used a Mac? Anyway, most of the new cameras, if not all, will work. Mac is really cool about plug and play stuff. Check out an iSight though. His Mac probably has a built in cam though.

They are pretty hidden too, great to see whos using your computer when your away:
