Has to do with most practice amps having smaller speakers and less developed EQ circuits to keep down costs/size.

Its because they're cheaply made, and therefore lesser in quality (and often size) when compared to 'decent' amps.

What amp do you have, cause, while it won't sound s great as a nice tube amp, some starter amps can sound nice for leads. They have to sound half-decent, otherwise no-one would buy them!

Ah, that's why. I had a 15R, and I had the same issue you do. If you can I would recommend saving up for a nice tube amp.
