So currently, I have an Ibanez SZ520fm (mahogony) with Dimarzio Evo set, and a Jackson Pro Series DK2M Dinky (alder) with Seymour duncan JB bridge and 59 neck.

I'm thinking about swapping the pickups? Give the jackson more of the solo-y sound I would like it to have, think Steve Vai, and I'm thinking the duncan's will give the SZ a bit more beef, think of a Les Paul.

opinions please?

It's always worth a shot. You can always change them back if you don't like it.

sounds good, you might not be able to get that les paul thickness with a S series guitar, but i would go for it, you can always put them back

Well the Sz is a whole lot thicker than the 'standard' S series. Only thing is I dont have a clue how to do it haha, it'd be a local tech job :P
Is why I'm on here asking instead of out there doing

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
