sorry i know how annoyin these threads are but what the hell

im looking for a tube amp, for band practise and maybe bedroom practise (might keep current amp for that)

i want medium gain, i play mainly blues and im gonna buy a few pedals soon, b4 i get this new amp

i play like cream, clapton and upto Guns N Roses, Wolfmother and AC/DC but i occasionally play some metal, like metallica and a little pantera, but i will have a distortion pedal for that

so i want you guys to tell me, what amps are good for this? how much this will cost?

i have read good reviews of the Krank Rev. Junior but im completely open to suggestions

so hit me with ideas. cheers

Hmm..check out the Palomino V16
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Palomino-V16-15W-Class-A-Tube-Combo-Amp-103046561-i1146110.gc

or you can wait until April and get a Blackheart 15W (tube of course) they come in halfstacks and combos.

Both the Palomino and 15w Blackheart are around the same price. Think blackheart one is around $400 dollars

not sure about the dsl401 has very mixed reviews

Yes it does. I personally dislike them, but they do the mid-gain classic/hard rock thing very well. Most of the issues seem to stem from the fact that they use EL84's as opposed to the EL34's that really defined to most people what a Marshall is supposed to sound like. It's worth trying if you can get access to one, it might not be your thing but then again it might.

people on this forum generally recommend the laney vc but i have no experiance with it.

The power amp circuit is similar to an AC-30, but the amp is voiced quite a bit different. It's another "try it you might like it" kind of thing. For what I play it doesn't work, but for what a lot of people play it hits the nail on the head.

There are tons of solid states that sound better than the tiny terror. I'd go with the palomino. If I was going to spend the kinda cash on some of the amps mentioned I wouldn't get a small one. I mean from what you play id look at some of the fender supersonics and stuff like that.

Every time I see that name I lol.

But yeah, the SC is pretty cool, but I wasn't too fussy about the heavy models.

I think the VC30 might be a little too 'cold' for you. Look at a YCV40, Classic 30 and perhaps a used JCM800.

Go try a Orange tiny terror, they are FANTASITIC, they are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. pair it with a nice 2x12 cab. If I ever need a smaller tube amp, its what I will get.
